We've spent the first several weeks of 4th Quarter learning about argumentative writing and penning our own persuasive essays!

5th grade activity night is Friday, April 12th from 5:30 to 7:30. We are in need of: -donations of money so we can purchase pizza -donations of individually packed snacks or drinks (Little Debbies, cookies, fruit snacks, Gatorades, snack-size candy bars, etc.) for the snack walk -supervisors to monitor the students in a gym or at one of the games. Please contact Ms. Nilson or Ms. Harms with questions! Donations can be dropped off in the front office or can be sent with your student and given to Mrs. Harms(B234) or Mrs. Nilson(B112)

In February, the CMS Student Council hosted a Lollipop Fundraiser after school.
We were able to raise $233.75 for the Arc of Platte County!

The 7th grade language arts students are reading "Path to the Stars," a memoir by Sylvia Acevedo. This week they studied a few of Acevedo's quotes. The students found ways they connected with not only the quotes, but also with their peers. Ask your student about Sylvia and her family's Christmas traditions!

It was great to see Dr. Kay back in the classroom today at Columbus Middle School subbing in Ms. Focher's STEM Classes. Ms. Focher won a substitute for a day during our shopping for charities campaign this past fall. If you see Dr. Kay be sure to ask him about his day.
