His kindness and caring nature shine brightly, making him a true gem among us. We are truly fortunate to have you on the team, Logan! Beckett's enthusiasm for learning is evident; he actively participates, and asks meaningful questions. He is also very insightful and helps the students around him develop a deeper understanding of content. Great job, Beckett!

🌧️🎃 Wacky Wednesday Fun in Mrs. Schwebach's Advisory! 🎃🌧️ On this rainy October 30th, Mrs. Schwebach's Advisory class turned pumpkins into both creative canvases and engineering practice! Students painted and built with pumpkins, adding some festive, hands-on learning to the day. 🎨🎃 We even enjoyed a playlist of music from different holidays to keep the creative vibes flowing!

IT IS TIME! It is time for the 7th grade language arts classes to go on Percy's Quest! Be on the lookout for "The Lightning Thief" at your house! Ask your seventh grader which god they would choose to be!

He asks insightful questions that show his engagement and curiosity.

She stays focused and quiet during class, making it easier for everyone to learn. When she finishes her work, she’s great at finding something productive to do. Her kindness shines through in how she treats her classmates. Keep being awesome, Karli! ⭐️Alma is great student who is very hard-working and will advocate for herself and others if she needs to. We have appreciated her help with translating and just jumping into help students who are still learning English! She is a remarkable artist and we are so lucky to have her on our 6 Maroon Team! He treats his classmates with utmost respect, and his calm demeanor consistently draws attention. A remarkable role model and an adventurous spirit at heart, Doran truly stands out. Hats off to you, Doran! Class 5 Silver is fortunate to have you as a shining presence! ⭐️Oscar is a great student who always finishes his work on time. He follows directions the first time and participates in class discussions. Oscar is polite and kind to everyone, making the classroom a friendly place to learn. His positive attitude and hard work set a good example for his classmates!

📣 The CMS Musical Theater Department was thrilled to bring an exciting workshop to our school, led by Broadway artist Elizabeth Earley! 🎭✨ As proud members of the Nebraska Theater Academy, we had the unique opportunity to welcome a professional Broadway performer right here at CMS. Students enjoyed a dynamic 60-minute session of musical theater dance, learning a fun routine to a musical theater selection. Elizabeth Earley also shared valuable insights into how students can pursue similar opportunities in the future. It was an inspiring and unforgettable experience! 🌟

🎉 A big THANK YOU to the Columbus Middle School Student Council for hosting an amazing 8th Grade Activity Night on October 18th! We all had a blast! 🎉 ⭐️ Next up: ⭐️ 📅 7th Grade: November 22 📅 6th Grade: January 31 📅 5th Grade: April 4 We can't wait for more fun ahead!

Our next Discoverer Den date is this Friday, October 25th! The Discoverer Den is the school store operated by the CMS Student Council. CMS students can purchase many different items such as candy, school supplies, small toys, and Discoverer Gear using "Discoverer Bucks." Students earn Discoverer Bucks by being Respectful, Responsible, Safe, and Kind. The line is always really long with students who are excited to spend their hard-earned Discoverer Bucks! If you are interested in supporting the Discoverer Den with donations, please reach out to Ms. Harms or Ms. Nilson.

Week of October 14th Students of the Week 7th Grade ⭐The 7 Silver Student of the Week is Ava. Ava is a quiet leader in class and is always doing what is expected even when no one is watching. Ava always turns her work in on time, and it is done well. ⭐Alaina takes responsibility for her work when absent, consistently goes above and beyond on assignments, and actively contributes to class discussions.

Week of October 14th Students of the Week 8th Grade ⭐Drake is always comes to class with a smile on his face and a bright attitude. He is willing to put in the effort on worksheets, tests, labs, etc. to ensure that his grade stays up. We love to see the dedication and commitment, keep it up! Congratulations to this week's Silver student of the week! ⭐This Emery is fantastic to have in class. She is always doing what she can to be successful in all her classes and is willing to help her classmates that may be struggling. Whenever she struggles she is not afraid to ask questions. Most importantly, she is always showing a great amount of respect to her peers and adults. Congratulations to the 8 Maroon Student of the Week!

Week of October 14th Students of the Week 6th Grade ⭐Carter is a fantastic student who really stands out in our class! He works super hard and takes responsibility for his grades, showing he really cares about his success. Plus, he follows all the school rules, setting a great example for everyone around him. It’s awesome to see how dedicated and positive he is every day! Way to be a Discoverer! ⭐We are excited to announce Michael as our 6 Maroon Student of the Week! Michael is a great role model to show other students what dedication and hard work look like. He consistently goes above and beyond in his efforts. Week of October 14th Students of the Week 5th Grade ⭐Ariana is a true leader in our class. She is always ready to help others and often asks how she can assist in the classroom. Ariana makes sure to finish her work on time, showing how responsible she is. Her helpful and caring attitude makes her a great classmate. Keep up the great work! ⭐Tayea is an excellent student and role model! She loves to participate in school and is so organized when keeping track of her homework assignments. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met and is extremely respectful to all of her peers and teachers. She consistently follows school rules and we are so lucky to have her on the silver team this year!

🎉 Our students celebrated the end of the quarter in style by spending their hard-earned Discoverer Bucks during WIN time! They had a blast choosing between exciting games of dodgeball or enjoying some fun and strategy with board games.
