This week, they took part in a Gallery Walk around the classroom, examining photo collections to find evidence of which region was represented in each poster. 🔍✨
Students did an amazing job using their notes and critical thinking skills to compare clues and make connections between each culture. Way to go, 5th graders! 👏👏
8th Grade
⭐️The 8 Silver Student of the Week is someone who is very hardworking and determined each and every day. He always shows up with a smile on his face and a great attitude. Welcome back! Today we go past intermission with Act 2 of the Talent Show🎭! We begin with the cheerleaders📣, drumline🥁, and art club🎨.
Our cheerleaders performed our school fight song with Vocal Tech and had a wonderful performance!🙌
The drumline took the stage next with a fantastic routine they've been perfecting for weeks. The audience couldn't help but clap to their rhythm!
Each member of the Art Club made a piece of a boat⛵ for it all to come together beautifully.
Next, our talented students wowed us with incredible solo and group performances!🌟 From singers to musicians and comedians, every act showed off just how much talent our school has.
And to top it off, our teachers had a hilarious😂 dance featuring many TikTok songs and audios everyone loves!💃
7th Grade
⭐️The 7 Silver Student of the Week is always happy with a good sense of humor. He is nice to everyone and always helpful. He is always positive. He is very thorough with this learning, and we can count on him to be in class ready to learn. Thank you for being active in your education! We are proud of our shining star! Congratulations, Prince!
⭐️Although our 7 maroon student of the week has been with us for a short period of time, he’s already making a positive impact in the classroom. His kindness is on full display when interacting with his peers, and his willingness to help others is admirable. In addition to his kind heart, he consistently puts in effort in his education. On Monday, we had a special guest, Brock Bourek, join us to teach choreography for the Queen’s Croquet scene! 👑🎶 Brock, a CPS alumni, earned degrees in Theatre and Arts Management and returned to share his talent and experience with our young performers.
We’re so grateful for his guidance as he helps our cast bring this whimsical story to life! 🌹🐇 Don’t miss our performances of Alice in Wonderland on December 5 & 6 — it’s sure to be a magical show! ✨🎬
Last Thursday, our school held its annual Talent Show! This year, we had acts showcasing many amazing talents, and we are so proud of our students. 🎤🎨🎭 Our Vocal Tech group put on a wonderful (and funny) performance!

⭐️The 6 Silver student of the week is such a kind, respectful, and responsible student. This student is also very involved in other things around CMS. Whenever he is missing class for activities, he is always on top of getting caught up with his teachers. He cares about doing well in not only school, but also other activities he is a part of. 🏃💨Tomorrow, our Cross-Country team will be running at Valley View in Fremont! This is our team’s last meet of the season! Many of our runners have set new PRs or show great improvement throughout the season 🔥. We can't wait to see where this sport takes them and hope to see our 8th graders on the high school team next year! Good luck, runners!🥇🏁
