🎨✨ Students in Mrs. Graybill’s Art classes have been busy creating this week!

🖍️ 5th grade explored pastels for the very first time.
🧵 6th grade began colorful weavings while focusing on the art principle of Unity.
🏺 7th grade glazed their clay projects—glaze is a special paint that’s fired onto ceramic to give it a shiny finish.
🍔 8th grade painted their clay food creations, inspired by artist Robin Antar.

So much creativity happening at every grade level! 💡🌟

Please welcome Ms. Danielle Pasonault! Our new nurse is an Aerosmith lover who loves anything with pesto. Ms. Pasonault has been working hard with her new best friend Nurse Kruse. She has her associate’s degree in nursing from CCC. Ms. Pasonault decided to work at CMS because she used to work with elderly and wanted to try something new. 1 MORE ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR Ms. Danielle Pasonault! 🙌

Meet Ms. Bell! She teaches speech/language! When not teaching at CMS, she works at Wiggles and Giggles. She attended UNL and UNK, and got her degree in communication sciences and disorders. If opening her own restaurant, her signature dish would be a turkey sandwich and a pickle. The weirdest thing she has eaten was a cow’s tongue. She is most excited to teach ACC. Growing up, her favorite teacher was Mrs. Scoville! We are so glad to have her at CMS!

Our 5th grade scientists are busy exploring the hidden world of nurse logs! 🔬 This week, students examined pieces of nurse logs under the microscope and observed isopods (also known as rollie pollies, pillbugs, and sowbugs) that make their homes beneath them. Next week, we’ll take our learning a step further by developing testable questions and creating investigations to discover even more about the life in, on, and around a nurse log. 🌱🐛

On Thursday, the Discoverers 8th-grade teams put up a good fight against the Grand Island Cougars. Teams A and B fought hard but ultimately came up short in their tough matchups. Meanwhile, the C team brought a victory to their home court! Losses are tough, but they’re also a chance to learn and come back stronger. We’re proud of all our athletes and look forward to the next set of matches!

Meet Ms. Jenner! She has been a great addition to the 7th grade Language Arts department. Ms. Jenner went to Liberty University in Virginia and got her Secondary Language Arts degree. She first taught at North Bend but is now at CMS. Ms. Jenner came to CMS because she wanted to go to a different school than her kids and wanted a bigger school. Ms. Jenner chose teaching because she had a high school teacher who made a huge impact on her life and wanted to do that for others! Ms. Jenner enjoys watching her boys’ sports after school. As a child, Ms. Jenner LOVED Cosmic Brownies. We are glad Ms. Jenner chose CMS and joined our community. We are so excited for the year that we get to spend with Ms. Jenner!
