We find Ms. Hoffman, and her first grade students, hard at work during a math lesson learning about mountains! Math mountains, that is, and how they can help solve equations. In today's lesson, students were given story problems and were asked to write and solve equations. As you can see, some students enjoyed this lesson more than others.
Tune in later this week to see more events happening in Ms. Hoffman's first grade!

Mrs. McCloud and her kindergarten students took some time to review before taking an assessment. She first explained to the students the correct way to mark an answer on the test. Then, she read the question to the students, and helped them identify the images on their papers. Students were being assessed on stories they had read over the past week.
Please tune in next week when we visit first grade!

Ms. Mohr's class was able to visit the school library. It was the students' first time using shelf markers by themselves, and choosing a book on their own to take home. As you can see, these kindergarteners were super excited to check out books like the "big kids."

On the final episode of this week's Eyewitness Emerson...
Co-leaders, Mrs. Darveau and Mrs. Janssen, were able to have a lunch meeting with some of this year's Student Council members. At this meeting, they discussed potential Greater Crusader Cart prizes. Throughout the week, students are awarded Greater Crusader Tickets for doing things above and beyond what is expected of them. As a class, these tickets are counted and turned into the office every Friday. One ticket from each grade level is drawn from a basket on Friday, and that student is able to pick a prize from the Greater Crusader Cart!
Tune in next week to see who will be in the spotlight.
