Second grade teacher Ms. Luedders stands in front of her sitting class and instructs them how their "stuffie"project.

Ms. Luedders' 2nd graders had a special guest with an amazing gift. A sewing group agreed to donate their supplies and time to sew a "stuffie" for each student.

Grandma Rose came and helped the students "adopt" their elephant stuffie.

The students named their stuffie, filled out an adoption certificate, and got a special picture. These stuffies will help us practice social skills of taking care of something special! Also, throughout the year, we will use our stuffies for different activities and then write in a journal once a week about what we did.

At the end of the year, each student will have a journal that shows the progression of their writing, as well as a keepsake of memories in second grade. Plus, they get to take home their stuffie!

Thank you to our special sewing ladies who made this all possible!
