Today at North Park's student assembly, 2nd grade student Jonathan Chen was awarded a gift basket as a prize for his poster being chosen as this year's winner by the Nebraska Council on Economic Education.
Mrs. Dodson entered her 2nd grade What I Need (WIN) students in an economics poster contest sponsored by the Nebraska Council on Economic Education in the College of Business, University of Nebraska-Lincoln. October was officially, National Economic Education Month. The observance promotes the importance of teaching economics in our schools.
The 2nd grade group researched what economics is by taking notes using dictionaries, nonfiction print and digital books. The group then had a poetry lesson. With all their new knowledge they created a poster to share what they learned.
