Columbus, NE - Columbus Public Schools has hired Mrs. Sarah Bird as the new principal of North Park Elementary for the 2025-2026 school year. "Ms. Bird will be a great addition to the Administrative team at Columbus Public Schools" stated Dr. Chip Kay, Superintendent of Columbus Public Schools. "Mr. Hausmann has done a tremendous job as the Principal at North Park Elementary. He has been a thoughtful leader and it has benefited every student who came through that building." Mrs. Bird will begin her position on July 14, 2025 following Mr. Hausmann's retirement. Mrs. Bird brings more than 20 years of experience in education and currently serves as the Dean of Students for Centennial Elementary.
North Park will be hosting a meet and greet tomorrow February 12, 2025. Parents who wish to meet Mrs. Bird may come to North Park from 3:30-4:00 pm.
