Welcome back, and Happy New Year! January marks a fresh start, and our PE classes are ready to kick off the year with some new energy and enthusiasm. As we move into 2025, let's focus on activities that promote healthy habits!

     After some basic movement activities to get the students moving again, our PE classes will be focusing on Basketball skills, introducing the basics of this exciting sport. Here's a sneak peek at some age-appropriate activities:

*Knock-away: Students dribble while moving and attempting to knock away the basketballs of other dribblers. It's a great way to improve ball control skills and agility.

*Around the World: The students will practice taking shots at different spots and hoop heights.

      After some time on the court, we're moving on to Tumbling and Juggling, adding a bit of creative excitement to our PE classes:

*Tumbling Mats: Students will explore basic tumbling skills on soft mats, promoting flexibility, coordination, and body awareness.

*Scarves and Bean Bag Juggling: Juggling helps improve hand-eye coordination. We'll start with scarves and bean bags, introducing the concept in a fun and creative manner.

Body Trivia:  Scientists estimate that the nose can recognize a trillion different scents!
