North Park Elementary Student Council members are surely doing the “Can-Can,” after collecting 1,305 food items for the Columbus Food Pantry.
The group of students began the drive on the 18th. It ran for five days, meaning more than 250 items were dropped off each day.
“We are very excited to see how much food we are able to collect to help people right here in Columbus,” North Park Counselor Trina Gentile said. “We love that we are working to give back to the community.”
Around 10 students gathered to load a truck-bed with food to be delivered Monday.
The giving doesn’t stop there for the NP Explorers. The Student Council is also planning to be Bell Ringers for a day in December for the Salvation Army.
