We are very excited to announce that the author of Imagination Mountain, Ivan Micek will be coming to Kramer Education Center on November 8th to read to the children.
Ivan grew up in Duncan and graduated from Columbus High School. "In 1993, I took a workshop based on the book titled The Artists Way by Julia Cameron. The 12-week workshop opened my eyes and heart to my creative passions, including writing and photography. In the midst of my accounting job, creativity began flowing, including writing the original story Imagination Mountain on 9/1/1995 after returning home from work on a Friday. (I still have the original written story!). Interestingly enough, as I was writing the story, instead of writing the words Imagination Mountain out every time it was mentioned in the story, I chose to use the first letters of each word, "I" and "M". Immediately I froze and got chills, realizing these letters are also my initials!"
This will be a great opportunity for children to meet a real author and let their imaginations soar.
