Talent Show Practice

Fall activities are in full swing at CMS.  We have a large number of students participating in our various activities available.  We have 67 eighth grade students out for football and 42 girls out for eighth grade volleyball.  Nearly 40 percent of our eighth grade class is participating in a fall sport!  We have 42 seventh grade girls out for volleyball and 39 seventh grade students out for football.  We have also expanded our interscholastic activities and added cross country.  We have had students participate as a club in the past but are excited to now offer this as an interscholastic sport.  We were the only school in our conference who was not offering this and now we are! Their inaugural race was Aug. 26.

We have many other activities in addition to sports.  Drumline is back bigger than last year and ready to make noise which is truly a beautiful sound!  We have 23 students who are found outside each night after school keeping cadence. You will find them at a high school football game this year as well as at our Talent Show!  Our annual Talent Show will be on Sept. 24.  We have 30 students who are auditioning this week in hopes to make the cut to show off their skills.  We also have 75 fifth and sixth grade students who are signing up to audition for our winter play.  The students will begin practicing and will perform Dec. 3 and 4. They are performing "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."

Our After School Program is also in full swing with 10 clubs meeting two nights each week.  Our clubs meet on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday.  We have 79 students enrolled in this program. The clubs have great variety and offer something to interest everyone. We have everything from American Sign Language to Pokemon to Bowling to Nerf Dodgers.

We know that students who are involved in activities are more likely to be successful.  We are happy to offer such a wide variety of things for students to be involved in while attending CMS.  Please come cheer our students on at their many events!
