Columbus Public Schools will remain in Tier 2 “YELLOW”, from September 28 - October 9, 2020. All students will continue to be in school each day under the same protocols, procedures and guidance.
Parents and students will continue with home screenings including taking temperature.
Masks are still required of all staff and students.
Social Distancing will continue to be a priority.
No visitors other than by appointments for students are allowed.
We will continue to limit the number of spectators at activities to family members.
We understand that the risk assessment dial published by the East Central District Health Department (ECDHD) has continued to sit close to “ORANGE”. We need your help in practicing universal precautions to keep school in session. Please understand that high positivity rates could push the district to make decisions it does not want to make.
If the risk assessment dial goes to “ORANGE” we will evaluate our staffing and student absences to determine our next steps. It does not necessarily mean the district will go to “ORANGE”. Be reminded that if the district does go to “ORANGE”, students would be in school every other day.
We know it is allergy season and we are coming up on the cold and flu season. We continue to ask parents and guardians to continue to help us by keeping your children home if they exhibit any of the symptoms that have been associated with COVID-19 by the CDC and ECDHD. Continue to monitor your children's health at all times.
