Pizza of The Plains.

Berry of The Praire.

That's what was on Tuesday's lunch menu at CMS as students got to try bison meat on pizza and an aronia berry vinaigrette on a salad.  The new, and uncommon, ingredients were served with partnership from the Nebraska Department of Education. While both ingredients may seem out of place, they are native to Nebraska.

Before the ingredients found their way to the lunch line, eighth graders in foods prepared the meals, taste-tested and developed the marketing and branding of the dishes.

The two menu items will also be served at the high school during an upcoming lunch.
