See below information regarding CHS parent-teacher conferences (February 15 & 16) along with the upcoming school schedule.

Parent-teacher conferences are being held: 

  • Wednesday, February 15, from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. 
  • Thursday, February 16 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. 

We welcome your child to attend conferences with you.

In addition, please join us for the presentation Next Steps: Finances, Facilities, and Estimates on Wednesday, February 15th, at 6:00 pm in the CHS Concert Hall.  CPS has collected over 550 surveys and is currently conducting community phone surveys, but we would like to hear from all of our parents and guardians.

Also, Wednesday, February 15, is a 3:40 p.m. dismissal time

Due to conferences, there is no school for students on:

  • Thursday, February 16
  • Friday, February 17

School will resume on Monday, February 20, with a regular day of classes. On Wednesday, February 22, we will be using the Wednesday bell schedule with a 2:35 p.m. dismissal time.

There will be a final parent meeting on Monday, February 20th at 5:00 PM for those who are signed up to attend the Close Up Trip in March. This meeting will include finalized details about the trip. Please encourage your parents/guardian to attend. The meeting will take place in Mr. Coan's room (G137).


Juniors:  Remember if you have questions or need assistance completing your registration form for senior year, use the link found in your counseling google classroom to sign up for Tuesday's homeroom work session.



Juniors Students interested to be considered for the Boys and Girls State opportunity, please contact Ms. Marino as soon as possible.

  • Grade 11 students: For your homeroom on February 6, please go directly to the Concert Hall so you may register for your 2023/24 classes. Please sit in your homerooms as teachers will take attendance.
  • STRIVE is Monday, February 6, in the cafeteria. All 9th, 10th and 12th graders involved in STRIVE should report directly to the cafeteria during HR today.
  • Did you know that this week is National School Counselor Week?  Our school counselor works to maximize your success, promoting access and equity for all members of the CHS student body.  

Tuesday, February 7

  • This week is National School Counselor Week. Your school counselor can help you develop academic achievement strategies as well as plan for your postsecondary options & opportunities.

Wednesday, February 8

  • This week is National School Counselor Week.  Your school counselor can teach you how to better manage your emotions and apply interpersonal skills that will benefit you now in high school as well as when you graduate.


Thursday, February 9

  • There will be a meeting for all girls interested in going out for track this spring on Thursday, Feb. 9 in Coach Bills room (F173) at 3:45 PM.  If you can't attend, please reach out to Coach Kreikemeier (kreikemeierj@discoverers.org)

  • This is National School Counselor Week.   Did you know that your school counselor can help you by providing a variety of services including: student academic planning, goal setting, short-term counseling and periodic check ins? If interested in any of those services, please fill out a request to see a school counselor in your google classroom.


Friday, February 10

  • Students--Friday, February 10 will be a 12:00 p.m. dismissal. Breakfast will be served, but no lunch on this date. We will be using the noon dismissal schedule which is below.
