The Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) is proud to sponsor Believers & Achievers, a state-wide awards program that recognizes Nebraska's future leaders. Those students who have shown a commitment to citizenship, school involvement, and community projects will be honored in the Believers & Achievers program.   



Program/Application items of note:

  • Only members of your Senior Class for the 2022-2023 school year are eligible to be nominated for the Believers & Achievers program.
  • The GPA requirement is 3.50 and one must have participated in an NSAA-sponsored activity to be eligible for nomination.
  • All sections of the application must be completed and the essay must be sent as a PDF with no numbers in the file name (ex:  AshtonHonnorEssay.pdf).
  • Application and essay turned emailed to Mr. Tim Kwapnioski, Director of Athletics/Activities by September 9, 2022 at 4 PM.
  • 3-4 students will be selected by the administration and names will be submitted to the NSAA.  The NSAA will select and honor 48 high school seniors throughout the 2022-23 academic year.

This year's CHS Musical is the hilariously funny Anything Goes.  This show boasts something for everybody: powerful leads, a strong chorus, featured soloists and ensembles, old-timey comedy, and several extended dance numbers, especially for anybody who loves tap dancing.  

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, August 24 at 4:05 PM in the CHS Concert Hall.  Anybody interested in a pre-audition clinic is welcome to attend on Friday, August 19 and/or Monday, August 22 from 4:00-5:00 PM in the CHS Concert Hall.

HOSA (HEALTH OCCUPATION STUDENTS OF AMERICA0 Meeting Next Thursday August 25th in room  G230 (Ms. Plance) for anyone interested! The Meeting will start at 7:45AM, if anyone has questions please see Ms. Wolff or Ms. Plance.

Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life—planning, goal setting, problem-solving, decision making, and interpersonal communication. If that interests you consider joining FCCLA! FCCLA is hosting its first meeting Thursday, August 25th at 7:30 or 3:50 in the IMC. You do not need to attend both. If you have any questions students can talk to Ms. Jaixen. See you there! 



The art department will be hosting an informational meeting for the CHS Art Club on Tuesday, August 23rd, after school in the IMC. You do not have to be in an art class to participate in the Art Club. If you are unable to attend the meeting and would like information, please contact Mrs. Campbell or Mrs. Stodola.


Attention, all 9th graders. Please be sure to accept the invitation to join your Building-Class of 2026 Google Classroom. This classroom will give you access to important school information.



Are you interested in streaming high school events? Perhaps have an interest in video production, commentating, or making graphics? Quiz Bowl is starting another year of competition. If you are interested in being part of the Quiz Bowl team or curious as to what it is, please join us after school for an informational meeting on Thursday, Aug 25th in Room G233. Student Council wants to welcome everyone back to the new school year and invite you to attend our first ever Back-to-School Palooza from 8:00 to 11:30 on Saturday, August 20. You will enjoy games such as bubble soccer, an inflatable obstacle course, volleyball, spikeball, cornhole, and kickball for the first hour of the evening. Afterwards, we will watch the movie Grown Ups on our outdoor screen, so please bring a blanket or lawn chair (or both) to be comfortable. Concessions and kettle corn will be available so please consider bringing some extra spending money. Tickets are $5 to enter and will be sold at the door. You will need to bring your id, $5 for the ticket, and a signed waiver. This waiver will allow you to use the obstacle course and bubble soccer. Waivers will be handed out while you're in the lunch line both today and tomorrow. Please enter through the main doors. Doors will open at 7:45.

Just a reminder: tomorrow night is our Student Council Back-to-School Palooza for grades 9-12 being held here at the high school from 8:00 to 11:30. Come enjoy a night of games and a movie! Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the main door entrance. Bring your id, money, and waiver. If you don't have the waiver signed by your parents with you, you will not be able to play bubble soccer or go on the inflatable obstacle course. Waivers are available to you in the cafeteria during lunch. See you there!
