Congratulations to junior Sarah Lasso for being selected as the Cornhusker State Games Ambassador. The Cornhusker State Games is a statewide amateur sports festival for all Nebraskans. The games are scheduled for July 15-24. If you are interested in participating please contact Sarah Lasso.


Prom tickets will be on sale on Tuesday through Thursday, April 19-21 during lunch. The price is $13 per person.



Grades 10, 11, & 12: The annual Spring College Fair and Career Expo / Job Fair has arrived at CHS. Tuesday, April 26th is the Career Expo / Job Fair that brings you a variety of Columbus businesses looking to provide their expertise about what skills and education you need to get a position available at their organization. Visit with them and you might have the opportunity to get a summer job but most importantly, ask questions about all the different jobs available at their sites. Thursday, April 28th is the College Fair where you will have the opportunity to ask about 25 colleges and military branches about their programs and what they have to offer you to open opportunities to get a job at the business you heard about at the career expo day. The registration form will be open at the end of the day today April 13, it will be delivered through your Counseling google classroom. If you have any questions, reach out to your counselor.


If you are interested in serving on Student Council for the 22-23 school year, please fill out an application by 4:00 Friday, April 22. The application can be found in your building Google classrooms.

Any 9th, 10th or 11th grader who wants to be a STRIVE student tutor next year is welcome to pick up an application from the counseling office. All applications are due back to Ms. Seehusen by April 29th.

  • Seniors, the last day to report scholarship awards is Monday, April 11th in order to be recognized at Honors Night. Anything received after that date cannot be included in the Honors Program so please refer to the google form shared in google classroom to find the form to report awards.

Wednesday, April 13

  • Just a reminder that Wednesday, April 13, is a 2:35 pm dismissal. No school on Thursday, April 14 through Monday, April 18, for Easter break. School will resume on Tuesday, April 19, with a 3:40 dismissal.
  • If you are bringing a non CHS student to prom, you will need to complete the guest permission form. These forms are available in the office from Ms. Maass, or you may download the form from the website or the link in the bulletin. They are due no later than Wednesday, April 13. Questions, please see Ms. Maass. Also, please remember you must have your fines paid along with ASD time under 180 minutes to attend the dance.   • The annual CHS Easter egg hunt will be held Wednesday, April 13. Be looking for paper eggs hidden around the school. If you find a paper egg with a number on it, take it to Room F165 for a basket of goodies. You can only redeem one egg. If you find a second or third egg, show the Discoverer Way by giving it to a peer. Happy Hunting!
  • Reminder to all students, your Student Council giveaway tickets must be placed in the box in the lunchroom TODAY. We will draw 10 lucky names and announce the winners at the end of the day. All prizes need to be picked up in the main office.
