The weight room will be open after school on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday for open lifting from 3:45 to 4:45 pm during the months of December, January, February, and March.

Attention, seniors who haven't ordered your graduation items from Jostens yet. Jostens is guaranteeing that items ordered by the end of February will arrive in time for May's graduation ceremony. Any items ordered after that may still arrive in time but may have a significant price increase in order to pay for expedited shipping costs. All Students going out for a spring sport: Monday, February 28, is the first day for spring sports practice. Students need to complete three steps before they are allowed to practice.

1.    Purchase a C-stamp

2.    Turn in a doctor’s physical taken on or after May 1 of 2021

3.    Register for your sport at SmartSchool-K12

Southeast Community College in Milford is having a John Deere Ag Tech Program Career Day on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. AKRS Equipment would like to invite students who have a true interest in the John Deere Ag Tech program to join us for the event. Sophomores through seniors are welcome to attend You will need to provide your own transportation. Students can contact their counselor for the link to register.

  • Applications are now open for the 2022 University of Nebraska-Lincoln Discover Accounting and DREAMBIG Academy pre-college summer programs. These free programs provide a great opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to learn about the world of business and how to leverage their strengths. Applications for both programs are due April 8, 2022. Contact your counselor for more information.
  • Central Community College-Columbus will have a representative available during all lunch periods on Monday, February 21st. Please stop by their table in the cafeteria and find out what amazing opportunities they have to offer.

Tuesday, February 22

  • There will be an informational meeting for all boys going out for track and field this spring on Tuesday February 22nd. This meeting will take place after school in room G231. If you cannot attend the meeting, please contact Coach Bethune for information.
  • Are you interested in writing for your CHS newspaper?  CHS Anchor News is looking for a few motivated individuals to help tell the story of Columbus High School through articles, videos, and social media.  If that sounds like your cup of tea, please send a politely worded email to Mr. McDonald requesting an application.  Applications are due 2/22/2022.
  • All boys going out for soccer there will be a meeting in the auditorium after school on Tuesday, February 22.

Thursday, February 23

  • Are you a past athlete or have no sports experience, but want to be involved in a CHS activity? We are looking for partners for our Unified Track and Field Team at CHS. If interested in participating there will be a meeting Thursday, Feb. 24 @ 4pm in the Cafeteria.
