CHS Drum Majors at State 2021

The Discoverer Marching Band recently completed another successful marching season.  With the leadership of Director Jeff Peabody and assistants Michael Klee, Keegan McGill, and Lorena Miya the marching season was a major highlight of the fall activity season.  Some of the major highlights include:

  • One of only 7 bands in the tri-state region invited to the Red Raider Preview Clinic.  This clinic featured the top minds in marching band today including two staff members of the world champion Santa Clara Vanguard and one of the head directors of the Disneyland Band.
  • Earned 1st in Class and 1st Overall along with best guard and best percussion and overall Grand Champion in the March to the Meridian Festival in Yankton, South Dakota.
  • Earned 4th place in the Dutchmen Field Championships.
  • Earned the 7th-consecutive Superior Rating at the NSBA State Marching Contest.  The Color Guard and Percussion both earned Superior Distinction as well at the contest.

Congratulations goes out to all of the students involved in the Discoverer Marching Band. Their hard work and dedication are evident and we look forward to a great winter season!
