The start of the winter sports season is Nov. 15. All athletes planning to participate on the first day need to complete these 3 steps. 
1. Register for their sport/activity on SmartSchool-K12  
2. Turn in a physical to the activities desk 
3. Purchase a C-stamp at the activities desk

National Honor Society will be hosting a blood drive next Wednesday, November 10th from 8:30-2:30 in the Auxiliary Gym.  Anyone ages 17 and older is eligible to donate, but 17 year olds will need a signed permission form.  If you are interested in donating,  feel free to email Ms. Field or Ms. Soltys.


Juniors and Seniors:  Just a reminder that Wayne State College has 3 dual-credit courses available next semester for those interested in pursuing a career in education. Please use the link found in your google counseling classroom to schedule a meeting with your counselor to discuss this opportunity



Columbus High School will host its Winter Sports Parents Night meeting Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Concert Hall.

All parents who have students that want to participate in basketball, bowling, swimming, wrestling, or Unified bowling are encouraged to attend. This includes parents of Scotus Central Catholic students who are planning to swim at CHS. Students are welcome to attend, but it is not a requirement.

Activities Director Tim Kwapnioski will have a short address, followed by comments from the CHS Booster Club and Athletic Trainer Rob Marshall. Parents will then go to meetings with their sport-specific coaches.



The CHS Musical "The Baker's Wife" will play this Friday, November 5 at 7:00 and Saturday, November 6 at 2:00 and 7:00 in the Nantkes Auditorium at Columbus Middle School. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students, but staff IDs and C-Stamps will be honored! We hope to see you at the show!



Attention Seniors: Please fill out the Diploma Name form in your Google Counseling Classroom as soon as possible. Parent letters will be mailed home with your decision by November 24th.




Educators Rising and FBLA are doing a Canned Food Drive November 1 to November 12. It will be a competition between homeroom classes. The winning homeroom will receive prizes. Each time you bring in a canned food item, your name will be entered in a drawing for a bigger prize. Drop off your canned food items before school in the cafeteria.


Tuesday, November 2nd

  • Girls: We are going to sponsor our first ever Girls Varsity Wrestling team this year! If any Girls are interested in joining the Girls Wrestling Team we will have a brief meeting Tuesday Nov 2nd at 3:45 in Room A117. If you have any questions contact Coach Keiswetter.
  • Attention, seniors. Please report to the auditorium for today's homeroom to listen to our Jostens' representative about graduation materials.

Wednesday,  November 3rd

  • High School Boys interested in playing basketball.  There will be a mandatory meeting Wednesday, November 3rd, at 2:40 pm in Coach Hitchcock's room (204C). If you can not make the meeting, you need to let Coach Hitchcock know.
  • Seniors, please remember to vote for your class song, motto, and invitation by the end of the school day today. This form is located in your building Google classroom.
  • Attention boys interested in playing Iron Man Volleyball, there will be an informational meeting for the team captains in the IMC on Wednesday, November 3rd, after school. Captains, please come with your teams roster with 6-8 people on it and a potential team name. If you cannot make the meeting, please contact Logan Kapels or Josie Garrett.

Thursday, November 4th

  • There will be an informational meeting for any student interested in going out for powerlifting on Thursday, November 4th at 4:00 pm in the Cafeteria. Please contact Ms. Riedmiller if you cannot attend, but are still interested.
  • The 2021 CHS Variety Show will be taking place on Friday, November 12, at 7:00pm.  This event is designed to give students who have unique gifts and abilities a chance to be recognized for their achievements.  This includes, but is not limited to, singing, dancing, acting, playing any instrument, performing your own songs or writings, magic, juggling, weird sports tricks, cup stacking...anything that you would like to show off!  3rd place in this event will score $50, 2nd place will score $75, and 1st place will score $100.  Students should email Mr. Ritter for more information.  The deadline for submitting an audition recording is Thursday, November. 4. In addition, auditions for the CHS Variety Show are due on Thursday, November 4th. All audition videos should be uploaded to Google Classroom and shared with Mr. Ritter.
