Students: Please check your email multiple times a day as this is the way you will receive messages from the high school office along with school information.


The start of the winter sports season is Nov. 15. All athletes planning to participate on the first day need to complete these 3 steps.
1. Register for their sport/activity on SmartSchool-K12 
2. Turn in a physical to the activities desk
3. Purchase a C-stamp at the activities desk

Are you interested in a career in the military? Do you need assistance in finding a career that is just for you? If you are in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, then this announcement is for you! On the morning of November 2nd, the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, otherwise referred to as the ASVAB test will be given in the IMC from 8:30-11:30am. This test is the most widely used aptitude test that measures your strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success. The ASVAB just doesn't tell you what you are currently good at, it will also tell you what you may be good at learning. If you are serious about joining the military or want to find a career that fits you, then you need to get serious about the ASVAB! To sign up to take the ASVAB test on November 2nd, please stop by the school counseling office and sign up with Ms. Uchtman or Ms. Sylvester by Tuesday, October 26th.


Anyone interested in joining the swim team this year there will be a parent meeting at 6pm on Tuesday, October 26th, in the cafeteria. This short meeting will cover important information. If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Dillon at Dillona@discoverers.org


Monday, October 18th

  • No School.
  • Monday, (October 18th), evening's volleyball theme will be Tie-Dye!
  • No School on Monday, October 18, for students. School will resume on Tuesday, October 19, with the regular bell schedule.

Tuesday, October 19th

  • University of Nebraska Medical Center will have a college representative here during all lunch periods on Tuesday, October 12th.
  • Attention sophomores! If you are someone who is interested in a one-of-a-kind leadership experience, this is for you. The HOBY program allows high school sophomores to recognize their leadership talents and apply them in becoming effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace, and community. If you are interested in finding out more information about the HOBY program and how it can impact your leadership skills, please email Mrs. Brown at brownv@discoverers.org to register and to receive a pass to attend a homeroom session on Thursday, October 21.
  • On Tuesday, October 19th UNMC will have a representative in the cafeteria during all lunch periods for students interested in a healthcare field. UNMC offers programs in Biochemistry, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Health, Pharmacology, Radiology and everything in between.
  • Attention 9-12 students:  If you are interested in finding out more about colleges in and outside of Nebraska and career ideas to match your interests, then the college and career google classroom is for you.    
    You can expect to get more insight into colleges and careers to help you make a more informed decision in your transition into life after graduation.   If you'd like to receive this information, contact your counselor for the join code.

Wednesday, October 20th

  • For any students interested in streaming CHS activities this winter there will be a short informational meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 13, in the concert hall at 2:50 PM.

Friday, October 22nd

  • Theme for Friday's Football game: Halloween theme--No masks, or anything that can be thrown on the field, no toy guns, swords or anything of that nature! You will be removed from the game if you bring any of these items!
