CHS at Latino Summit

Last week, 40 Columbus High School students attended the Northeast Community College Latino Summit in Norfolk.  The purpose of this event is to motivate students and have them understand the importance of seeking opportunities.

The speakers for the event shared their personal experiences and their path to career and personal success and how they overcame barriers.  Students that attended the summit were eligible for scholarships and scholarship opportunities through Northeast Community College.

Columbus High School thanks our teacher sponsors for the event, Liliana Velasco and Blanca Alarcon.  Their ability to create connections with our students and help them find a path to future education is what our profession is all about.
