Seniors who have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 (on an unweighted 4.0 scale) and participate in NSAA-sponsored activities are eligible for the Believers and Achievers Award. Believers & Achievers was designed to reward high school students in Nebraska for their excellence in academics and participation in NSAA activities. Those students who show a commitment to citizenship, school involvement, and community projects will be selected through an application process and be honored in the Believers & Achievers program. Turn in date is September 13, 2024. For more information, please contact Mrs. Loeffelholz in the guidance office.
It's HIGH allergy season again. Causing head congestion, coughing, itchy eyes and sore throat. Allergy medications need to be taken EVERY day until the season is over. Allergy meds counteract the histamines which cause all these symptoms. You need to take these medications at home. The nurse does not have allergy medications.
If you are bringing a non CHS student to homecoming, you will need to complete the guest permission form. These forms are available in the office from Ms. Maass. They are due no later than Friday, September 20, 2024. In addition, please remember that fines must be paid and detention time below 180 minutes to attend prom. Questions, please see Ms. Maass.
Attention, seniors. If you are interested in being a Homecoming candidate, please fill out the Homecoming Contract found in your building Google classroom. Contracts are due by 3:40 on September 10.
Students who are planning to take the ACT: A prep course is being offered at CCC this fall. Look for brochures around the school or contact the counseling office for more information.
Do you have a creative mind? Do you like to build and create things? Then you should join DI! DI is an after school activity where you get to solve a difficult challenge by designing a solution and working with your team to create a skit explaining your problem and unique solution. The practices are on Tuesdays after school from 4:00p - 6:00p. Applications are available from Ms. Long in room G107 or Mr. Townsend in room G115 and due by October 2nd to either of them. An informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 17 at CMS in the cafeteria.
Are you interested in a career in social work, counseling, psychology, teaching, early childhood education, preschool, health and human services, or a leadership position? EdRising is for you! Don't let the name fool you, in EdRising you'll learn skills applicable in all areas. The first meeting will be this Wednesday, September 4th, at 7:30 am in the IMC.
The first Key Club meeting will be on Thursday, September 12 at 7:40 AM or 3:45 PM in the IMC. All students are welcome to join. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Albracht.
Beginning on Tuesday, September 3 all student tardies to periods 2-7 will be assigned detention time. The tardy report is run weekly. Students who have been tardy to class will see minutes added to their total.
The robotics club will have its first practice starting September 9th @ 5:30 PM in room H104. Join the exciting world of robotics through an exciting and engaging competition. We are looking for builders, programmers, writers, presenters, and strategists of all skill levels. If you have questions, please feel free to see Mr. Whitmore in room H104.

Homecoming Theme for Monday, September 23 is:

The American Legion is hosting an Oratorical Contest and the winner will be receiving scholarship money. If interested, stop by the counseling office to pick up a brochure.
Saturday's student section theme will officially be a WHITE OUT. Dress in all your white and come out and support our football team at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln when we take on Fremont at Noon.
FBLA Members--forms and dues are due by Tuesday, September 24! You can get a form from any business teacher. Contact Ms. Tunink if you have any questions.
Homecoming tickets will be sold before school, after school, and during lunch Monday, September 23-Friday, September 27. In order to purchase a ticket all fees and fines must be paid and detention minutes must be served. Tickets cost $10 each.
