Students: Please check your email and E-hall pass multiple times a day as this is the way you will receive messages from the high school office regarding appointments, items dropped off, etc. along with other school information.


Students! Be sure to check out chsanchornews.org - it's your online school paper and the source for all the news at CHS. 


 Students who are registering to take classes for dual-credit and are on the free and reduced lunch plan, should email their counselor about utilizing the ACE scholarship to pay for their course.

Seniors who have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 (on an unweighted 4.0 scale) and participate in NSAA-sponsored activities are eligible for the Believers and Achievers Award. Believers & Achievers was designed to reward high school students in Nebraska for their excellence in academics and participation in NSAA activities. Those students who show a commitment to citizenship, school involvement, and community projects will be selected through an application process and be honored in the Believers & Achievers program. Turn in date is September 13, 2024.

It's HIGH allergy season again. Causing head congestion, coughing, itchy eyes and sore throat. Allergy medications need to be taken EVERY day until the season is over. Allergy meds counteract the histamines which cause all these symptoms. You need to take these medications at home. The nurse does not have allergy medications.


 STUDENTS:  Please make sure to join the College & Career google classroom so you know of local job opportunities, summer job opportunities, college career visit days as well as lots of other college & career information.  The join code is:  ilscn45. This is for all grade levels.


If you are bringing a non CHS student to homecoming, you will need to complete the guest permission form. These forms are available in the office from Ms. Maass. They are due no later than Friday, September 20, 2024. In addition, please remember that fines must be paid and detention time below 180 minutes to attend prom. Questions, please see Ms. Maass.


Attention, seniors. If you are interested in being a Homecoming candidate, please fill out the Homecoming Contract found in your building Google classroom. Contracts are due by 3:40 on September 10.


Juniors or Seniors who are considering participating in the March Close Up Trip to Washington DC should return their sign-up sheets to Mr. Coan in room G137 by Friday, September 6th. If you were not able to attend the meeting, but would still like a sign up sheet; you may stop and get one from Mr. Coan.


Students who are planning to take the ACT:  A prep course is being offered at CCC this fall.  Look for brochures around the school or contact the counseling office for more information.


Reminder: There will be no school on Monday, September 2, for students. School will resume on Tuesday, September 3, with a regular day of classes.

  • Art Club applications are due Wednesday, August 28th. If you still need an application or have any questions, please contact Ms. Campbell or Ms. Stodola.

  • Auditions for this year's CHS Fall Musical, Cinderella, will be Wednesday, August 28 at 4:00pm in the CHS Concert Hall. Anyone interested in auditioning should see or email Ms. Parker for the Google Classroom code to access audition materials.

Thursday, August 29

  • There will be a meeting for any junior or senior interested in attending the March Close Up Trip to Washington, DC on Thursday, August 29th, in room G137 (Mr. Coan's) at 7:45 or 3:45. You may attend either meeting. Students who attend the trip will get a first hand look at democracy in action by visiting with their congressional representatives, visiting historical locations around DC, and engaging in important discussions with students from around the country. Any questions about the trip can be directed to Mr. Coan or Mr. Shea.

  • Attention, all seniors. It's time to elect your senior class officers. This will include 2 rounds of voting. Please take the time to complete the first round of voting using the form posted in your building Google classroom. Voting ends at 4:00 on Thursday, August 29.

  • Anyone interested in FBLA, stop by Ms. Tunink's room (G220) after school on Thursday, August 29, for an Ice Cream Social. If you can't make it, contact Ms. Tunink.
     

Friday, August 30

  • Attention, all 9th graders. The application for this year's Student Council has been placed in your building Google classroom. If you are interested in applying, please fill it out and submit it no later than 4:00 Friday, August 30.

  • The deadline to turn in dual-credit registration forms is this Friday.  Please talk to your counselor if you are unsure about taking your class for dual-credit and they can help you.  Also, the deadline to drop a dual-credit class is this Friday, August 30th to avoid being charged for the class.  Talk to your counselor if you need to drop a class.

  • All students: The theme for tonight's football game against Norfolk has been changed. It is now White Out.
