Discoverers Unified Bowling Team Return From Lincoln As State Runner Up

On December 4, 2023 the Columbus High School Unified Bowling Team participated in the NSAA State Unified Bowling Championship. CHS started bracket play with a 4th seed after a 6-game baker's game seeding round. They faced Bellevue East first, winning the best of 5 competition in 3 straight games. Next, they faced a tough Fremont team and again won in 3 straight games. This put the Discoverers in the championship game for the 2nd year in a row. In the championship game, the Discoverers faced Lincoln Northeast. They lost the first game 146-151, won the 2nd game with a team high score of 216, lost the 3rd game 132-161 and in a nailbiter lost the 4th game 180-182. This gave the championship to Lincoln Northeast with a 3-1 victory over Columbus. The Discoverers returned home as the 2023 State Runner Up.
