Seniors:  Please remember, senior pictures are due by December 8, 2023. If you have any questions, contact Ms. Kwapnioski or see the high school website for detailed information.


Any 10th, 11, or 12th grader who is interested in a health field such as exercise, coaching sports management, PT, OT, etc. should sign up for the November 29th Field trip to CCC-Columbus, YMCA, Fieldhouse and wellness center.    Get a permission slip from either Ms. Fields or Ms. Otten and return it by the November 21st deadline. 


Any 10th, 11th, or 12th grader interested in Early Childhood Education is invited to go on the December 1st field trip to Wayne State College and Northeast Community College. Space is limited for this opportunity. Pick up a permission slip from Ms. Jaixen.



Any 10th, 11th, or 12th grader interested in a theatre or fine arts career, should sign up for the December 5th field trip to Iowa Western, The Rose Theatre, and the Omaha Playhouse Theater.  Contact Ms. Parker for a permission slip. Only 25 students will be able to join in this fun event.

 


Due to circumstances beyond our control, the 2023 CHS Variety Show that was scheduled for Tuesday, November 21 has been postponed to a later date.  More information will be shared with the CHS student body as it becomes available.


Just a reminder that there will be no school on Wednesday, November 22 through Friday, November 24 for Thanksgiving break. School will resume on Monday, November 27, with a 3:40 dismissal.



All HOSA members, we are having a meeting on November 20th at 7:00AM in the CHS Auditorium! We encourage everyone to be in attendance! We will discuss and hear about our Semester Volunteer Project! 


Attention, seniors. Don't forget to order the 4 required items for the graduation ceremony ASAP. Jostens' prices will increase in mid-December. Ordering instructions are posted in your building Google classroom. Please see Mrs. Wallin if you have any questions.

  • The CHS Jazz Band concert with special guests The Columbus Jazz Orchestra will be held on Monday, November 13, in the CHS concert hall. Admission is free.


Tuesday, November 14, 2023

  • There will be an FCCLA meeting on Tuesday, November 14th at 6:30 pm in Miss Jaixen's room (G113).
  • Do you love to sing, dance, play an instrument, or have another talent to share?  Do you like to win BIG MONEY?  Auditions are currently open for the CHS Variety Show, which will take place on Tuesday, November 21 at 7:00pm in the CHS Concert Hall.  Students have until Tuesday, November 14 to submit their acts.  Students can check your Building Google Classroom or speak to Mr. Ritter for more information.

  • B.I.O.N.I.C. accidentally let the turkeys loose. On Friday, November 17, help B.I.O.N.I.C. catch the turkeys and stop them from causing havoc in the school. If you find one, visit Ms. Brown or Ms. Loeffelholz for your prize. Do not be fooled because these turkeys are smarter than you think!
  • Congratulations to Fisher Cyza and Jamie Hendrickson for being voted on by teachers as the OPTIMIST STUDENTS OF THE MONTH.  They will be honored at a luncheon today with their parents and community members.  Way to represent the Discoverer Way Fisher & Jamie!!
  • Students who are enrolled in a dual-credit course for first semester, this announcement is for you.  Friday, November 17, is the last day to withdraw from a course to prevent it from going onto your college transcript.  If you have below a "C", the grade will not transfer to another institution.  If you have below a "D", consider withdrawing to prevent it from going on your college transcript.
