Calling all CHS singers!  Auditions for the competitive a cappella singing groups Baker's Dozen and Neptune's Angels will take place on Tuesday, November 7 at 6:30pm in the CHS Choir Room.  Audition information can be found in your graduation class Google Classroom.  You do not need to be a current member of a choir class to audition.  Please email or speak to Mr. Ritter if you have any questions.


There will be a boys basketball meeting in Mr. Sliva's room, D113 on Monday morning, November 6, at 6:45am for anyone interested in trying out for basketball. Right after the meeting there will be conditioning, so be sure to bring athletic clothes and basketball shoes. If you have any questions, you can email Coach Sliva at slivan@discoverers.org.


For anyone interested in playing girls basketball this season, there will be a meeting Wednesday, November 8, right after school in Mr. Bill's classroom, F173. For those girls attending Addi Johnson's college signing, please go directly to Mr. Bill's room right after her signing. Questions, please email Coach Schaefer at schaefers@discoverers.org.

Peru State will be here Monday, November 6, during senior homeroom to visit with anyone interested in hearing about Peru.  Please come to the IMC during B lunch if you are interested.

  • UNL will be here next Monday, October 30, during junior and senior homeroom to talk about their Honors program and their ACE requirements that can be completed in high school.  If you are interested in attending the presentation, please go to the College & Career google classroom to sign up.

  • HOBY is a state leadership seminar for current 10th graders. HOBY's purpose is to empower students to develop leadership talents. CHS will sponsor one 10th grade student to attend this year's event.  You must attend the seminar in early June. The application is due October 31st. See or email Ms. Seehusan for additional information.
  • There will be an informational meeting for girls and boys bowling on Tuesday, October 31, at 3:50pm. The meeting will be held in the cafeteria. If you have questions or unable to attend the meeting, please email Coach Jaster at: jasterrb@discoverers.org
  • Students and staff: On Tuesday, October 31, the band parking lot needs to be cleared by 4:00 for the Trunk or Treat event. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • Attention, CHS students. The annual Ironman Volleyball tournament will be held on November 6 and 7 beginning at 4:00 p.m. If you wish to participate, you need to organize a team with 6 to 8 members. All games will be played in the auxiliary gym. The registration price for each team will be $10. Please send your team's captain with your $10 to the captain's meeting at 2:40 in the IMC on Wednesday, November 1. If you have any questions, please ask Carly Gaedeke or Mrs. Wallin.

    • Dates & Times:  Friday, November 3, 2023 at 7:00pm and Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm.
    • Venue: Nantkes Performing Arts Center at Columbus Middle School.
    • Admission: $7 adults, $4 for students, free admission with C-Stamp  
  • Attention, CHS students. For the first time in years, Student Council is sponsoring a Powder Puff football tournament this November 8 and 9 beginning at 3:45 p.m to be played on the CHS turf. Ladies, this means that you need to gather teams of 8 players to play flag football! Your team captain must register your team at the captain's meeting at 3:45 in the IMC on Friday, November 3. There is no fee to participate. If you have any questions, please ask Caden Kapels, Kaden Brownlow, or Mrs. Wallin. 
  • The deadline to register for the December ACT is Friday, November 3rd.  When registering, enter the CHS test-site code 196170 to find CHS for a test location.
