Students: If you failed any classes last semester, stop by the counseling center and pick up a summer school form.   The main purpose of summer school is to recover failed classes.  Students can sign up for a maximum of two summer school classes.


Are you interested in different languages and cultures? Join World Language Club! Contact Mrs. Perigo at perigot@discoverers.org or go to room F178 to sign up! The first meeting is Monday, March 6th after school in room F178.



Attention, seniors. If you have not ordered your items from Jostens, then you are risking getting your items in time to walk in your graduation ceremony. Instructions for ordering these items are posted in your Building Google Classroom. If you have any questions or need help, please see Mrs. Wallin in the IMC for assistance.



Any grade 9 or 10 students interested in going to the June 5-6, 2023 Diesel Camp at CCC-Columbus, please talk to your counselor or Ms. Bastian for more information.



Attention All Students:  E-hall pass will not be used for restroom passes during 4th period.  Please utilize lunch time and use the restrooms in the cafeteria during 4th period. 



Just a reminder that Thursday, March 9, is a regular full day of school with a 3:40 pm dismissal. No school for students beginning Friday, March 10 through Friday, March 17 for spring break. School will resume on Monday, March 20, with a 3:40 dismissal.



Students and Staff:

Students will not be allowed to enter the IMC during testing for any reason. All IMC business will need to take place before or after school. Tech assistance will continue at the window.



Students there are 14 Tuesdays and Thursdays left before prom.  After School Detention (ASD) is available from 3:45 until 5:45 pm.  Get your time served, if you plan to attend Prom.



Spring sports season starts on February 27, 2023.  Any students interested in going out for a spring sport need to have the following completed before they are able to practice and compete:

  • 1.  Physical completed and turned in
  • 2.  Purchase a C-Stamp  
  • 3.  Register and complete the required paperwork on SmartSchoolK-12

  • Are you a past athlete or have no sports experience, but want to be involved? We are looking for partners for our Unified Track and Field Athletes at CHS. If interested in participating there will be a meeting Tuesday, Feb. 28 @ 4pm in the Cafeteria. If you have any questions please contact Coach Wildman at wildmana@discoverers.org.



Wednesday, March 1

  • There will be an informational meeting for anyone interested in trying out to be a CHS cheerleader for the 2023/24 school year. You can attend either on Wednesday, March 1 at 5:00pm in the CHS cafeteria, OR on Thursday, March 2 at 6:00pm in the CHS Concert Hall. If you have any questions, email Ms. Joseph or Ms. Braithwait.
  • Freshmen and Sophomores: If you are interested in exploring a variety of careers please sign up for the CCC-Columbus Career opportunity fair by March 1st.   You can get a permission slip for this event from either Ms. Brown or Ms. Seehusen in the counseling office. Space for this event is limited. 
  • Students and Staff:

Thursday, March 2

  • Students interested in learning more about carpentry and the opportunities in that career field, should sign up to hear a presentation from an experienced individual on Thursday, March 2nd, during homeroom. Go to the College & Career classroom to sign up.

This year's CHS Winter Play, Lost in Yonkers, will have performances Friday, March 3 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, March 4 at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm at the Nantkes Performing Arts Center at CMS. Admission is $4 for students, $7 for adults, and a C-Stamp will get you in for free.

  • Are you interested in a career in the military? Do you need assistance in finding a career that is just for you?  If you are in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, then this announcement is for you!
    • On the morning of Tuesday, March 7th, the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, otherwise referred to as the ASVAB test will be given from 8:30-11:30am. This test is the most widely used aptitude test that measures your strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success. The ASVAB just doesn't tell you what you are currently good at, it will also tell you what you may be good at learning. If you are serious about joining the military or want to find a career that fits you, consider the ASVAB! 
    • To sign up to take the ASVAB test on March 7th please stop by the school counseling office and sign up by Friday, March 3.
  • All current 9th, 10th and 11th graders:  Your registration forms are due on Friday, March 3, of this week.   If your registration forms are not returned the counseling office, staff will pick your classes for you next year.
