We have received numerous questions regarding how an all-mail election works. The Platte County Election Commissioner has shared the following information with us regarding the upcoming mail election. This information can also be found on the Platte County Election website by by clicking here.
May 9 th Columbus Public Bond Election FAQ
1. How does an all-mail election work?
Ballots will be mailed from the Platte County Election Commission office on April 17 th to active registrants in the CPS District. The ballots can then be returned to the Election office by mail, placed in the Platte County Election drop-boxes, or brought to the Election office.
ONLY BALLOTS RETURNED CAN BE COUNTED!
2. What if I’ve moved or changed my name since I last updated my voter registration?
The deadline to register for this election with your current information at the DMV, with Health
and Human Services, by mail with an April 21 postmark, or online at:
https://www.nebraska.gov/apps-... is April 21st. The deadline for in-office registration is May 1 st . Our office will be open until 6:00 p.m. on that date. Your party affiliation will not affect this election, so no need to change parties.
3. I did not receive a ballot. What should I do?
Please call the office at 402.563.4908 to verify your information.
4. I made a mistake on my ballot. What do I do?
Please call the office at 402.563.4908 and we will instruct you on how to obtain a new one.
5. Do I need to show my ID to receive/return my ballot?
The bill deciding on the procedures for proving identification for elections has not yet been
voted on at the legislative level. You will not need a photo ID for this election.
