Columbus High’s Director of Athletics and Activities Tim Kwapnioski has announced the hiring of Syd Kaspar as the head coach of the Columbus Discoverers Diamonds Dance Team. Syd replaces current head coach Megan Gaston, who is resigning at the end of the current school year. She has been the Diamonds' dance coach for the past 5 seasons.
“Coach Kaspar is passionate about fostering a positive and supportive environment where dancers can thrive and reach their full potential,” said Tim Kwapnioski, Director of Athletics and Activities at CHS. “She brings an abundance of enthusiasm for dance, and her emphasis on helping student-athletes develop athletically will benefit our dance team.”
Syd is a graduate of Midland University. While at Midland, she was part of the dance crew, where she trained with the competitive dance team, the game day squad, and the Premier Dance Co. Since graduation, she has worked as a Choreographer and instructor and has provided consultation services to high school dance teams and individual dancers. She has also been involved in High School Dance Team Clinics and the Central Nebraska Dance Convention.
