On Friday, December 6, 2024, Columbus High School was one of at least eight districts across Nebraska that were part of a "swatting" attempt. Columbus High School was placed in lockdown during this attempt, while Lost Creek and Columbus Middle School were placed in secure. CPS takes every threat seriously, prioritizing student and staff safety.
