administrators, parents, students, school-supporting organizations and the general
public. The winner received a $500 cash prize and will be featured on the Wall of Fame.
While some would have found the large class sizes overwhelming, Mrs. Young worked
very hard to make sure those students received the Language Development instruction
they needed to help them learn English and do well. She has worked hard to create a
classroom that is inviting and welcoming to their new students and has built the
necessary relationships with kids, so they know they can trust them.
The CPS Foundation in pleased to announce Jenny Young, English Learners teacher at Columbus High School as the 2023 Outstanding New Teacher of the Year.
