Welcome to Centennial Elementary School
Home of the Centennial Stars!
8:00 a.m. – 3:25 p.m.
Centennial Elementary School is located in southeast Columbus and is one of five elementary schools within Columbus Public Schools. Our school community is the largest elementary site within CPS and is home to approximately 390 students and 60 certified and classified staff members.
Centennial is a three-track school of all grades K-4 this year and we are home to two preschool classrooms.
Centennial also offers a Little Stars Preschool Program which is available to all children who reside within the school district. Our preschool offers both a morning and afternoon session and serves approximately 60 students.
Programs available at Centennial include English Language Learners, Title 1 Reading, Special Education, Library Media/Technology classes, Music and P.E.. Centennial is equipped with a computer lab, mobile computer cart, mobile iPad cart, media center and full-size gym. As a building we are working to increase the instructional technology tools that are available to students and teachers to support instruction and student learning. These instructional technology tools include LCD projectors, Apple TV’s, SMART boards, doc cams, iPads and computers.
Based on our school’s free and reduced lunch percentages, Centennial is identified as a Schoolwide Title 1 Building. Title 1 funds provide our school with additional staff to support the reading achievement of all students.
Centennial offers an after school program in collaboration with the Platte County Extension Office. The after school program operates from 3:25 – 6:00 p.m. Our after school program provides students with a supervised study time and a variety of enrichment activities. Students also have the opportunity to participate in clubs and service learning projects.
Centennial is a place where students and staff come everyday to laugh and learn.
We are a school community.
We are a family.
We are STARS!
